Who is Stephen Amell?

So I'm not gonna pretend and claim that I know all about Stephen Amell. I'm also in the process of getting to know him same as every new fans out there. Now I know he's been in some shows but I've been busy with work lately that I'm really out of the loop with what's hot on tv right now. So this is just a quick introduction but I may throw in some clips of his previous works from time to time as this blog progresses. But right now, let's start from how I got to know him, which is from the teaser for his new show, CW's Arrow.

Born: May 8, 1981 in Toronto, Canada


He went to St. Andrews College in Aurora, an all boys private school.


He has a black Lab named Louis  or as he fondly calls him, Lou, aged 5.5.

He loves to write.


When he's not working, he loves just hanging out with friends, doing stuff that normal people does.


He's a BIG soccer fan. 


He looks up to Edward Norton as an actor and would love to work with him. He loved him in the film The People vs Larry Flynt.


He liked the tv shows Mad Men and Breaking Bad. Also, he has seen every episode of Sex and the City.


He's big on celebrating holidays especially Christmas. 


How he likes his pancakes? with frozen blueberries and peanut butter on the mix, maybe some sliced bananas when it's already in the pan, and some milli yogurt on top when done.

When asked to name his favorite books and authors, he mentioned several: Killing Yourself To Live and The Visible Man by Chuck Klosterman and The Average American Male, The Lie, and Men, Women and Children by Chad Kultgen.

He runs somewhere between 6-10 miles and has joined 3 marathons so far.


He was doing insurance, and taught spinning and personal training all over Toronto before he became an actor. He also, at one time, was a door-to-door vacuum salesman.


Doesn't play any musical instrument but he's pretty good with a trombone.


Dream acting gig: to play a villain.


Work by 1,2,3 is a song that he has listened to a "thousand times". Apparently, this was on Hung's first episode.

Film and television directors he'd love to work with includes Michael Mann, David Fincher, Steven Spielberg, and the Canadian director Clement Virgo.


Stephen Amell is currently on a dairy-free and gluten-free diet.


His favorite place in North America is New Orleans and he'd love to live there at some point in his life.


He's a bit of a daredevil too, he'd want to try bungee-jumping.


Stephen is not really keen on masculine cars. He had a 1976 BMW 2002 and a smart car and at this time, might get a Prius.
